Evil Captcha

So, I think my captcha is trying to get me to kill people.  This is why you should turn captcha off on your blog.

When I was doing my daily blog-checking rounds earlier I was commenting and I saw a captcha that said "triblog".  I thought, well that's an odd thing to say since i'm trying to comment on a blog.  If that wasn't weird enough, the next captcha I get says "stake".  I don't know who or what to stake, so I fire up the google recaptcha site.  On the third refresh it gives me a name (now triblog makes more sense, tri is the prefix of three, and it took three refreshes before i got a name to go with the blog captcha).

So I decide to google this person that my captcha wants me to stake.  Google was happy to correct me on the name and I ended up at a facebook page.

I don't live nearby, so I am unable to carry out the wishes of the captcha at this time, but it was pretty weird.  Has this ever happened to any of you?  Also if you like captcha comics, look up "Inglip" sometime.

TL;DR  why does my captcha want me to kill people?

  2. My captcha just gave me the words "bludgeon" and "beiber". Does that mean anything to you? =)

By the way I'm working with a very weak AP, unsecured. Until I get a better one. Can also visit dunken donuts whenever necessary

  13. Captcha is unnecessary. It's much better to just moderate your posts.

  27. Well, the thing is, my blog gets massive amounts of traffic (anywhere from 5 to 30 hits a day!), so I kinda need it. And yes I agree that captcha wants me to kill.

  28. @Elliot,
yeah but I get way more traffic than that (i average a few hundred hits a day) and trust me you don't need it. it's 3vil, thats 3 times the evil.

i've never had a bot try to spam on my blog and i've never used captcha.
