I guess I should get back to blogging.

I feel like I've taken a long enough break and probably lost some followers for it, but I'm back now and I'll try to start updating regularly again.  I've been very busy, very stressed, and not feeling very well, but things are looking up.  I'll be moving back to Florida very soon and I'm excited about that.  It'll be nice to go home after a few rough years in Texas.

Anybody have any experience moving cross country?  I don't have much stuff to transport but I was thinking a rental car/van/truck, might be better than a uhaul type of vehicle.  I could use some tips or suggestions from anybody who still reads this.

  1. Cross country in England is barely a small hop, compared to the distance you speak of.

And no-one can resist the urge to pop bubble wrap. It just isn't possible.

  2. I helped a friend move from Florida to Virginia. A U-haul is the best way to go. Just throw everything in the back, strap it down, and be off. Welcome back.

  3. The one time I moved cross country I very much regretted not having a moving truck. I used a pickup with a trailer and it gets kind of old always checking to make sure nothing has come out. Feel like it would have been better if everything was inside a trailer.

  4. I've moved cross country before, but my family used a moving truck (and by the sounds of it, you probably don't have quite as much junk to move as we did, seeing as your considering a rental car). Anyways, good luck on your move, followed :D

  7. I moved from Cali to Florida and back in the last year. All I can suggest is for you to take plenty of rests and enjoy the scenery if your budget allows it.

  8. I have a question bro? is Florida really like in the movies? Girls in thongs walking down the streets, going on roller blades with barely any clothes on, low rider cars and lots of Latinos? its an honest question its just that its portrayed like that in movies and series and most likely a lie but then again maybe it isnt so could you answer me that?

  9. @Malkavian,
Parts of it are kinda like that, yeah. It Depends what part of florida. I'm from a little bit north of Miami, and Miami does have parts of it that are much like what you see on TV, but it also has ghettos and suburbs and normal areas like you'd find in many other places. As you get closer to the beach you will see girls in thongs/bikinis, rollerblading with almost nothing on and such, and there are a lot of Latinos, particularly Cubans.

  12. I'll take this opportunity to start reading your blog again - been way too busy recently. I assume you'll be getting friends to help with the move as opposed to hiring people/doing the task yourself?

  13. @Calamari,
Actually I'm doing it all myself, but I'm something of a minimalist so it won't be that hard. I packed up my whole apartment in one day and it should fit in a rental car without a problem.
